I've taught art for nearly a decade, and created art all my life. In that time, I've seen firsthand how important teaching relationships can be. Through encouragement and respect, accomplished artists can break through creative obstacles, and newcomers can gain confidence in their ability to make art.

In-person lessons are held at my studio in Colorado Springs, CO near the UCCS campus. People ages 8 to adult are encouraged to apply, and all skill levels are more than welcome. Lessons are customized and collaborative, with discussion, books, handouts, demonstrations, visual aids, music, and hands-on exercises. At the first lesson, we’ll discuss your artistic experience, goals, learning style, and do a few creative exercises. Each following lesson will be designed to meet your unique goals and interests.
We can explore a variety of mediums together, including (but not limited to):
- Painting
- Drawing
- Sculpture
- Mixed media
- Graphic novels
- Jewelry
- Arts and crafts
- Beginning knitting
- Photography
If you'd like, we can also learn about artists of the past and present, specific art periods (impressionism, realism, abstract expressionism, contemporary), and alternative genres (digital and graphic art, comic books, crafts).
